What if nothing… collapses perfectly, like a paper fan Fold my body Crinkle at the edges and tear. Collecting all the reasons to possess a body No less than perfect. Tell my maker, make me something better With steel and diamonds. Behind us is a crowd of lovers Behind us is a valley to be slipping into I take one step backwards I take one step backwards… To wash away this womanly pain. I’m only bleeding out my iron. It’s only once a month But I still want to kill The animal within. And then all will become perfectly collapsing machines. Behind us is a crowd of judges Behind us is a valley to be slipping into I take one step backwards I take one step backwards … To become a better machine More killer less creator. And there are whole gaggles of girls being told That they don’t have the time and they don’t have the choice To be her.

Needs 02:51
Needs these feelings come and go, but you stay on the same foot in the same hole but when I look away I need you to still be holding out for me please communicate. what do you need to fall asleep? what do you need to fall asleep? we both know that I need you to shift your feet step out of holes and you know it’ll be fine. don’t linger on the times you were lonely they will poison you it will complicate the sense of freedom you can gain from solitude yes, those restless nights could be safe for you. what do you need to fall asleep? what do you need to fall asleep? we both know that I need you to shift your feet step out of holes and you know it’ll be fine. yes it’ll be fine ohhh yes it’ll be fine

about

"Perfectly Collapsing" invites listeners to explore ways of making sense of bodily limitations, the suffocating limits to language, and the limits to being able to meet needs.

Through Kalila's pleading and cathartic vocal melodies along with repetitive guitar playing, her music has been described as witchy, dreamy, and hypnotic. She is influenced by Kate Bush, Dead Can Dance, and Aldous Harding.
